Answers to some of your flooring installation questions

Changing your floors can be pretty exciting, and overwhelming, what with all the colors, patterns, designs and prices.
At Completely Floored we hear it all, so here are answers to some of the most common questions:
●Big-box or local? Okay, we’re big fans of local, because you get the ultimate in customer service. You’ll also, without a doubt, you’ll have questions about your flooring-of-choice and our experts can answer them. Let’s face it: The big-box stores are pretty popular after-school employment opportunities, so they won’t have much knowledge on the subject.
Local stores also tend to have more inventory, because they’re independent, while the big boxes have to answer to higher-ups about carrying only the best selling products.
●How much knowledge should the flooring retailer have? Lots. They need to know about every type, so you get the installation that’s right for you. This kind of mastery will let us help you in making the right decision. For example, if you love the look of wood, but have a limited budget, you can go with wood-look laminate, or why everyone needs waterproof (WPC) flooring, or the difference between ceramic and porcelain tile, and when you should use glass tile; or the difference between a solid and engineered hardwood installation.
●Services: While many companies subcontract installation services, ideally you want it all under one roof, so you don’t have to run from place to place. But, no matter what, you want to be sure you hire expert installers for your floor material. Some of them, like carpet, hardwood or tile, are very tricky and involve a lot of subfloor work. Others, like luxury vinyl or laminate, can be DIY projects, but you should still talk to an expert. With few exceptions they’re floating installations, meaning they can go over material, but you need to know what those exceptions are. Other good services are design consultations, rug binding, carpet re-stretching, etc.
●Communication skills: A floor is the biggest expression of personal style; the installation will also be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, investments in your home. You not only need someone with excellent listening skills, but who is able to articulate why one thing might be better for you than another.
We know how to communicate, so feel free to come into the Completely Floored showroom in Everett, WA.
