Three Tips to Help You Prepare for Your Upcoming Laminate Flooring Installation

Now that you've picked out your new laminate floors, it's time to start getting prepared for the arrival of your laminate floor installers. You know when it comes to labor costs, time is money, and you also know you want the flooring installation to go as smoothly as possible to minimize the disruption to your daily life. In short, you want to be prepared.

We install a lot of flooring here at Completely Floored, and we always appreciate the extra lengths to which our customers go to help streamline the process. However, we've noticed that many people have a tendency to overdo it. That gave us the idea of providing our floor installation customers with a quick cheat sheet of things that they can do to grease the wheels, without wasting their time or effort.Save the Best for Last

If you're going to be doing a number of remodeling projects around the house, it's always best to save the flooring for last. There are a couple of reasons this is super-important, the chief of which is that it will help avoid damaging your new floors before they are even installed!

Dripping paint, work boots tracking debris around the house, dropping tools, and construction dust fallout, are all factors that can cause damage to your floor that can be avoided, simply by installing your floors last.

Find An Out-of-the-Way Place for Your Pets

As adorable as they are, pets make terrible worksite helpers. It's like they don't even try, honestly!

All kidding aside, it's best to keep the pets in a secure area away from the worksite for their own safety, and for the safety of the crew.

Clear the Room

The most important thing you can do to prepare for your big install is to make sure that the room or rooms where the new floors will be installed is completely free of any clutter. Most installers will offer furniture moving as part of the contracted work, but if they haven't, you'll definitely want to be sure you have it handled before they show up!

It's also a good idea to make sure that there are no smaller items lying about when the workers arrive. Things like shoes, children's or pet's toys, or stray items lying around, can serve as tripping hazards as well as roadblocks to immediately starting the job.
